What we collect

• If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile photo, as provided by Google. Nothing else is requested from your Google account.
• Your investing preferences: the answers you give during onboarding — risk style, time horizon, goal, preferred sectors and an optional budget.
• Whatever you actually enter: holdings, watchlist entries, price/volume alerts, your practice portfolio, and your research list — only if you add them.
• If you're browsing as a guest (not signed in):nothing is collected beyond a random device identifier stored in a browser cookie, which lets your preferences and watchlist persist on that one browser. It isn't linked to your name, email or any account.

Why we collect it

To personalize the stock picks and analysis you see, and to keep your holdings, watchlist and alerts synced across devices when you're signed in. That's the whole reason — none of this data is sold, and it isn't used for advertising.

Where it lives

Signed-in account data is stored in our Postgres database, keyed to your account. Guest data lives only in your browser's cookies and, for the device identifier, the same database — never tied to a name or email unless you sign in.

Deleting your data

If you're signed in, open the account menu (your avatar, top right) and choose “Delete my account and data”. After you confirm, this permanently deletes your account record and every piece of data tied to it — holdings, watchlist, practice portfolio, alerts, research list and preferences — right away. There's no recovery after that; it's a real, immediate deletion, not a deactivation.

If you're using Stockinder as a guest, nothing is tied to an identity you can delete an “account” for — just clear this site's cookies in your browser and the device identifier (and anything saved under it) stops being reachable.
